Alain de Botton

As you are reading one of his books, I thought you might like to listen to him.

This is a short speech in which he examines our ideas of success and failure. Is success always earned? Is failure? He makes an eloquent, witty speech about how to find true pleasure in our work.

Remember you can watch it with English or Spanish subtitles.

Yes. Problems related with our life. When problems ocurred to us sometimes we don´t know how to confront them and Alain de Botton across some ancient philosophers from differents places and ages try to show us differents ways to start to solve them and live better and happier. I like it so much 🙂

This is what philosophy is about, isn’t it? Finding ways to cope with our daily life, finding a meaning, that is.

  8. Sergio says:

Yes. Differents ways to confront our problems, solve them and life better and happier…

Some philosophers, like Epicuro recomend to us a life where people only think in being happy.

Others, like Seneca, that the best way in our life is to life without think about what people opine about ourselves…

    I think is a great subject… very useful I think. 🙂
